the story behind the occasion
I grew up in the South, home of hospitality. Making people feel welcome, comfortable, and seen was something I always had.
The other thing I had was a lifelong dream to move to New York City. So I took my hospitality with me. And living here taught me something: we don't host enough.
We're surrounded by incredible restaurants and endless places to go. But even the best night out has a clock on it. Crowded tables. Conversations you can barely hear. The feeling that you need to leave before the night is actually over.
I started thinking about what was missing: lingering over dinner, creating a space that feels personal, and gathering with the people who make you feel most like yourself.
so i built the occasionalists
A way to make hosting feel less overwhelming and more inviting. Through personalized styling, thoughtfully curated hosting kits, and intentional hospitality, we bring the details together so you can focus on the reason you're gathering in the first place.
Our homes are meant to be lived in and celebrated in. They're where traditions begin, where dinners turn into hours-long conversations, and where ordinary nights become the ones you remember.
connection is the occasion. the details set the scene.
